American Intercontinental University Online
American Intercontinental University Online (AIU Online) is the online extension of American Continental University, a for-profit career and vocational training college owned by Career Education Corporation.
AIU Online is one of seven campuses operated by American Intercontinental University, the other six being in Los Angeles, CA, Weston, FL, Atlanta, GA, Dunwoody, GA, Houston, TX, and London, UK. The university was founded in 1977 as the American College of Applied Arts, with four campuses in Los Angeles, Atlanda, Dubai, and London. It was bought in 1996 by entrepreneur Steve Bostic and renamed American Intercontinental University, then merged four years later into Career Education Corporation, a public company that also owns the Sanford-Brown Colleges and Colorado Technical Universities, among other schools. AIU Online was added in 2001.

AIU Online accreditation
American Intercontinental University and AIU Online are accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, a regional accreditation agency that accredits schools in the southern states. COCSACS is recognized by the US Department of Education.
