Woodbury College is a higher learning institute in Montpelier, Vermont, established in 1975. In August of 2008, Woodbury announced an agreement with Champlain College to form the Woodbury Institute at Champlain College.

Located in the hillsides near Montpelier, the capital of Vermont, Woodbury was originally intended to prepare people to become paralegals. It now also offers a Mediation & Applied Conflict Studies program, as well as a Masters of Science in Law program. Woodbury distinguishes itself with small classes & a highly dedicated faculty intended to provide "a rigorous, practice-based education that extends beyond the classroom into the community." By establishing its Prevention & Community Development Program in 1994, Woodbury became the first college in the country to offer a program designed to prepare people to plan & carry out initiatives that preemptively address problems such as violence & substance abuse. Most recently, Woodbury began offering a Master's degree in Mediation & Applied Conflict Studies, which trains students to become mediators.

Woodbury places an emphasis on students & graduates making a positive impact in the community, stemming from their established programs in mediation & conflict studies. Its programs focus on conflict in public policy, communities, & organizations. The college offers a highly flexible course schedule with full-time students attending classes just one-and-a-half to two days a week with both weekday & weekend schedules available. Woodbury also offers a number of online courses.

With its new agreement with Burlington, Vermont-based Champlain College, Woodbury students will see more course options. Students will continue to attend classes at the Montpelier campus & online.

Accreditation

Woodbury College is accredited by the New England Association of Schools & Colleges, Inc, through its Commission on Institutions of Higher Education. Champlain College is also fully-accredited by the New England Association of Schools & Colleges.
