
Platt College, founded in Missouri in 1879, has three Southern California campuses, in Los Angeles, Newport Beach, & Ontario. It is a career-focused vocational school "dedicated to the principle that education is the foundation for personal & professional growth & that students should have the opportunity to develop to their full potential."
Platt is known for three specialized areas: medical assisting (Associate's degree), paralegal (Associate's or Bachelor's), & design---which includes a multimedia certificate programs, an Associate's degree in graphic design, or a Bachelor's in visual communication. Platt believes that the learning process is a partnership between students & instructors.
Platt incorporates community service in many aspects of the curriculum, as they believes it makes students more attractive to employers, as well as benefiting personally. Platt also hosts a number of events throughout the year for students, including career fairs, symposiums, lecture series, & museum visits.
Accreditation
Platt College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology. The College is also state-approved by the Bureau of Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education pursuant to California Education Code Section 94310.
